Our Testing & Verification Practices
Mineral-based ingredients are naturally sourced from the environment, where trace elements and environmental contaminants may be present. Our approach focuses on verification, documentation, and oversight to ensure materials meet established quality and safety expectations before release.
Heavy Metals Testing
Heavy metals testing is conducted as part of our harvest testing program and is a core component of our standard quality and compliance verification process. Testing is performed by independent, third-party laboratories and reviewed internally as part of our quality governance framework. In addition to harvest testing, heavy metals analysis is performed on every production batch to ensure ongoing verification throughout production.

Our heavy metals testing practices include:
- Testing performed at the time of harvest
- Analysis conducted on each production lot and finished product
- Results reviewed prior to material release
- Heavy metals levels evaluated to ensure they meet applicable regulatory safety standards
- Independent, third-party laboratory analysis as part of our quality review process
This lot-specific and batch-level testing supports consistency, traceability, and documented verification for our downstream customers.
Microplastics & Environmental Contaminants
Microplastics testing is addressed through our environmental and supplier/material oversight program and forms part of our broader quality and compliance verification framework. Testing is conducted by independent, third-party laboratories and reviewed internally as part of our quality governance process.
Our microplastics monitoring practices include:
- Testing conducted on an annual basis
- Independent, third-party laboratory analysis as part of our verification program
- Performed as part of our overall supplier and material oversight
- Focused on monitoring sourcing environments over time
- Applied as a risk-based monitoring approach, rather than routine lot-by-lot testing
- Results reviewed within our internal quality governance framework
Because microplastics are a widespread environmental consideration and testing methodologies continue to evolve, this approach allows us to monitor conditions responsibly while maintaining accuracy around test applicability and limitations.
Quality Oversight & Compliance Framework
Testing for heavy metals and microplastics is one component of our broader quality system, which emphasizes:
- Defined testing schedules
- Lot traceability and documentation
- Controlled material release procedures
- Ongoing supplier and sourcing oversight
This framework is designed to support formulation, regulatory review, and quality assurance requirements for our B2B customers.
Documentation & Technical Requests
Summary testing information, certificates of analysis, and supporting documentation are available upon request for qualified customers and partners.
Our approach to testing, verification, and environmental oversight is inseparable from how we source and operate. Responsible stewardship of the Great Salt Lake is foundational to our quality philosophy, from harvest practices to long-term environmental monitoring. We view preservation, transparency, and responsible operations as shared responsibilities that must coexist to support both essential resources and the health of the ecosystem.
